The Serpent River First Nation is getting $131,000 in funding support for its local daycare expansion.
The Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines (MNDM) states the daycare expansion includes the construction of a 24-foot by 30-foot addition that will incorporate a classroom and two offices. It will also involve the relocation of a toddler playground to provide more natural shade and expansion.
Provincial funding of $40,000 will be coming from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund’s (NOHFC) Northern Communities Capital Assistance Program, while $91,000 will be provided through the Patten Post Diversification Fund (PPDF).
