Less than two months after announcing his retirement, Ron Common has postponed his exit as president of Sault College.
The school made the announcement in a Jan. 25 news release, citing the board’s desire to keep Common on while instituting projects such as the construction of the health hub, the development of a framework for collaboration with Northern Ontario’s six colleges, and the establishment of the Institute for Energy and the Environment.
Common’s decision was made following a request by the school’s board of directors to delay his retirement until the summer of 2014.
He had originally planned his exit effective Dec. 31, 2013.
