Sudbury Area Mining Supply and Service Association (SAMSSA) is giving its members two chances to meet and greet senior procurement officials from Chile's Antofagasta plc in early November.
In partnership with Export Development Canada (EDC) and the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, SAMSSA is facilitating meetings in Sudbury, Nov. 4, and in North Bay, Nov. 5.
Antofagasta officials will discuss their needs for more than $500 million in goods and services for its open-pit Esperanza copper mine. Site construction began in April 2008 and production is expected to begin in 2010.
These needs include a broad range of areas, including horizontal pumps, air compressors, control systems, valves, cranes, ventilation systems, and to name a few.
