Rubicon Minerals is forging ahead with an expanded and accelerated exploration program at its flagship Phoenix Gold project in the Red Lake gold district in northwestern Ontario.
The plan calls for a "minimum" of 80,000 metres of diamond drilling over 12 months to prove up "excellent" gold findings on its F2 Gold Zone.
Company president/CEO David Adamson said recent gold intercepts extend outside their main area of drilling.
"With our strong treasury, we are able to fast track our program through the advantage of drilling from underground."
Adamson said the aggressive drill program is one of the most intensive in the market.
Rubicon holds more than 65,000 acres of ground in the Red Lake area.
