Red Lake gold explorer receives final mine permits

Rubicon Minerals reports it is now fully permitted to operate its Phoenix Gold project in Red Lake.

Rubicon Minerals reports it is now fully permitted to operate its Phoenix Gold project in Red Lake.

The company received its final three permits from the Ministry of Environment with an industrial sewage certificate, air certificate and a permit to take water.

“This is another important milestone,” said David Adamson, company president in a March 21 statement. “Starting with the discovery in 2008, this has all been achieved in four years.”

Last December, the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines approved the company's closure plan.

In a preliminary economic assessment report produced last year, the project contained 477,000 ounces of indicated gold at 14.5 grams per tonne (g/t), and 2,317,000 ounces of inferred gold at 17.0 g/t.
