Sault College's Inspiring Growth capital campaign has received a donation from the RBC Foundation.
The foundation donated $50,000 to the cause, which seeks to raise funds for upgrades to campus facilities, in addition to increasing student scholarships and bursaries.
“RBC Foundation is committed to making a lasting social impact through inspired, responsible giving,” said Caroline Kelly, vice-president and branch manager of RBC Dominion Securities, in a news release. “We recognize the contributions Sault College makes to our community and we are happy to be making a difference in post-secondary education.”
RBC Foundation, the charitable arm of the RBC Financial Group, donated more than $56.6 million in hundreds of communities worldwide in 2010.
The Inspiring Growth campaign is described as “the most significant fundraising initiative the College has undertaken in its 45-year history.”
“The success of this campaign will provide students attending the College with the learning environment that they need and deserve,” Jim Boniferro, chair of the Inspiring Growth campaign, said in the release. “We thank the RBC Foundation for their support in advancing post-secondary education in our community.”
