The Ontario government is providing support to a string of communities on the North Shore of Lake Huron to develop economic development strategies to attract new businesses and create jobs.

The Blind River Development Corporation will meet with the community to create an economic development plan focusing on the community's strengths and help develop strategies to attract new opportunities for economic growth.

In addition, the province is investing in a joint project with the Municipality of Huron Shores, the Towns of Bruce Mines and Thessalon, and the Townships of Johnson and Plummer Additional to create unique economic development strategies for each of the communities, and identify common areas for opportunities.

The funding comes from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp.
