The province has given a Fort Frances year-round greenhouse and farm market garden operation a solid chunk of green to become more environmentally friendly and generate its own energy.
Lowey's Produce, one of the largest operations of its kind in the region, will receive $108,300 from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation.
The funds will be used to install solar and wind power systems alongside an efficient, environmentally-friendly biomass boiler to provide energy for its greenhouses.
