The possibility of developing a northern francophone centre for innovation in technology education is being explored for the northeast. Le Conseil scolaire public du Nord-est de l'Ontario, the board which oversees French-language elementary and secondary schools in 10 regions in northeastern Ontario, received a contribution of $16,326 from FedNor to help cover the costs associated with a needs assessment, an analysis of the role of the centre and the development of a business plan. The project is an initiative that would explore opportunities to develop technology partnerships between education and business.
