Staking of properties around the Sudbury district continues as platinum exploration heats up. The world's platinum producer giant, Anglo Platinum, is forging ahead with an $1.18-million exploration program at Agnew Lake, west of Sudbury.

Staking of properties around the Sudbury district continues as platinum exploration heats up. The world's platinum producer giant, Anglo Platinum, is forging ahead with an $1.18-million exploration program at Agnew Lake, west of Sudbury. Anglo has also invested over $2 million in exploration on the River Valley project east of Sudbury.

Earlier this summer, Kaymin Resources Ltd., Anglo's subsidiary company, Pacific Northwest Capital Corp. and New Millennium Metals entered into an a joint exploration venture on the Agnew Lake property.

The agreement will see Anglo Platinum invest a total of $6 million in exploration and development on Agnew Lake by 2004.

A number of junior mining and exploration companies are exploring around the Sudbury area.
