Tourism promoters Georgian Country Country received $75,000 from FedNor to draw visitors to the Parry Sound area.
The money is earmarked for website upgrades, the purchase of touch-screen kiosks at the highway travel centre, and for a mapping component to help visitors find local attractions and accommodations.
"This funding will go a long way to enhancing the presentation of our tourism product to visitors around the world," said Georgian Bay Country tourism manager Kelly Krist in an Aug. 7 release. "By building upon our popular tourism web portal (www.gbcountry.com), we will provide the essential tool visitors need when planning a vacation."
