Over 400 people attended this year's Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce Business Awards recently. The seventh annual dinner and awards ceremony honoured local businesses and employees. Among the winners this year were Bowater Inc.

Over 400 people attended this year's Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce Business Awards recently. The seventh annual dinner and awards ceremony honoured local businesses and employees.

Among the winners this year were Bowater Inc. and Wardrop Engineering ( Commitment to Quality Award), Thunder Bay Truck Centre (Business Excellence Award - 40 or more employees), Thunder Bay Charity Casino (Looking Good Award), and Douglas Fir Cottage Country (New Business).

This year marked the first time the chamber awarded honourary memberships. Don McEwen, Keith Jobbitt and chamber of commerce past-president Rebecca Johnson were selected for the honourary membership award for their outstanding achievement as individuals, their involvement in community functions and service in the interest of business.
