Prospectors and junior mining execs working across the North will meet in Thunder Bay in early April for the annual Northwestern Ontario Mines and Minerals Symposium.
The three day event, April 6-8 at the Valhalla Inn, is highlighted by the annual awards luncheon on Wednesday where the Developer of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award in the exploration community will be recognized.
The gathering includes a trade show, workshops and presentations from assay labs, government geologists and junior miners operating in some of the hottest mining camps.
Among the speakers include Brad Baker of Rainy River Resources, Ewan Downie of Premier Gold Mines, Patrick Soares of Brett Resources and Ian Russell of Rubicon Minerals.
There will also be presentations on the province's Far North Terrain Mapping, compilation mapping by the Greenstone Economic Development Corp., and First Nations Prospector Training Opportunities.
