The province has allocated nearly $3.7 million for bridge reconstruction in the Dryden area as part of its 2001-02 Northern Highway Program.
An investment of $290 million for northern roadways includes carry-over road work from last year and bridge maintenance, including a $1.7-million contract to upgrade bridges over Nugget Creek and Thunder Creek east of Dryden.
Thunder Bay will see road improvements in the form of upgrades to signals, modifications to an advance-warning detection system at Balsam Street and asphalt patching and lane improvements.
