Northern Ontario to be blanketed with health and safety courses in 2009

The Industrial Accident Prevention Association has unveiled its slate of health and safety training programs for the new year, covering the gamut from the Canada Labour Code to accident investigation.

 
The Industrial Accident Prevention Association has unveiled its slate of health and safety training programs for the new year, covering the gamut from the Canada Labour Code to accident investigation.
Sixteen programs will be presented across North Bay, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins and Dryden throughout the year.
The first round of general certification begins in North Bay on Jan. 27, and continues to roll out through the North in the following months. This two-day course covers such topics as legislation, workplace safety as well as joint health and safety committees.
Other 2009 courses include a discussion on transportation of dangerous goods, health and safety responsibilities towards outside contractors, and the inspection and maintenance of steel storage racks.
