With a decade of experience at the helm of Northern College, president Michael Hill has announced his intention to retire.
Hill's 10-year tenure will end with a sabbatical from Jan. 1, 2009 to Sept. 23, 2009 in order to complete his doctorate.
An acting president will be appointed while the school searches for new leadership and will rely upon the college's multi-year strategic operating plan. The process of establishing a search committee has already begun.
"His dedication to Northern and rural communities and to the establishment of partnerships served Northern College well," said Michael Vecchiarelli, outgoing chair of the Board of Directors, in a release.
