More massive chromite deposits have been found in the Ring of Fire area by Noront Resources Ltd. after test results from 12 diamond drill-holes completed during the winter on the Blackbird chromite deposits.

One hole intersected 21.5 metres of chromite, averaging 41.58 per cent Cr2O3, with Cr:Fe ratio of 2.13 within 30 metres of surface.

Another hole intersects 25.1 metres averaging 36.82 per cent Cr2O3, Cr:Fe ratio of 2.02 including massive chromite intersection 5.2 metres wide averaging 40.61 per cent Cr2O3 with Cr:Fe ratio of 2.11.

Assays for chromite intersections in many other holes are pending. The final results will be released as they become available.

Two drills have been working on the property since January. One of them has recently been reassigned to test for nickel near the Eagle One property to see if there are any downward continuations continuations of the structure.

Noront has nearly completed its planned drilling on the chromite project, well ahead of schedule and budget.
