Deadlines for submissions to the Timmins Chamber of Commerce's 2009 Nova Awards are coming to a close on March 13, and officials are urging businesses and individuals to put forward their nominations.
The annual business excellence awards gala will be held in the city's McIntyre Arena on April 16, and will feature a mining theme.
Categories include the Young Entrepreneur (Under 30) Award, a New Business (Under 2 Years) Award, as well as three categories of Business of the Year, ranging from 1-5 Employees, 6-49 Employees and 50+ Employees.
Nominees need not be members of the Timmins Chamber, and businesses are encouraged to self-nominate.
An independent panel of business experts judge the entries and select three finalists for each category.
These finalists will then attend a special "Finalists' Reception" in advance of ceremony and will be featured in a special video segment at the gala.
Those interested in putting forth a nomination should obtain forms by calling 705-360-1900 or visiting the Chamber website at www.timminschamber.on.ca.
