The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre has added a BioProducts Commercialization Specialist to its roster.

Bill Ivey has more than 20 years of experience in the biomass energy business and holds an electrical engineering degree. He was a pioneer in the independent power industry in Ontario where he proposed and helped establish the Non-Utility Generation Advisory Council.

He will be the point person in building relationships across Northern Ontario to advance bioproduct development, biomass conversion and bioenergy opportunities.

Ivey has also been involved in the wood waste energy and recycling field as a consultant, and most recently was involved in the Chapleau Biomass Project, a 13-megawatt wood-fired gasifier project.
