Sonepar Canada has announced it has entered an agreement to acquire Dixon Electric.
A full-line electrical distributor based in Northern Ontario, Dixon Electric has offices in Sudbury, Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie and North Bay. The acquisition is expected to be complete by January 2012.
“Dixon Electric shares Sonepar Canada's core values and is an ideal addition to our community of businesses,” François Anquetil, president and managing director of Sonepar Canada, said in a news release. “We look forward to further strengthening our professional relationships and portfolios in Ontario, while also continuing to lead the way in the field of electrical distribution in Canada.”
Dixon has been in business for more than 50 years, serving the local mining and forestry industry, and is a member of the Sudbury Area Mining Supply and Service Association (SAMSSA).
“Dixon Electric has a proven track record over the past 50 years of servicing the electrical industry with reputable products and excellent customer service,” Anquetil said. “We are pleased to welcome Dixon Electric to the Sonepar Canada family.”
Additional companies in the Sonepar family include Gescan, Osso Electric, Sesco and Texcan.
