A zinc and copper mineralization has been discovered after recent drilling in the Ring of Fire area in the James Bay Lowlands.

White Pine Resources (TSX:WPR), Noront Resources (TSX:NOT) and Golden Valley Mines (TSX:GZZ) jointly hold the claim.

The discovery is on the Luc Bourdon and Bourdon West properties, which are more than 22,000 acres combined.

The claims were staked by Golden Valley Mines in the spring of 2008. This ground was subsequently optioned to White Pine and Noront in August 2008. White Pine and Noront could equally earn a combined, undivided 70 per cent of the property by investing $5 million within three years of the agreement date. White Pine is the operator of the joint venture.

The size of the resource is unknown, but zinc and copper can be seen when drilling in the area.
