More than 100 researchers, engineers, students and industry personnel from around the world are expected to whirl into Sudbury Oct. 14 - 17 for the 12th International Conference on Mechatronics Technology (ICMT 2008).
Presented in collaboration between Penguin ASI and Laurentian University, the four-day event will feature discussions and presentations on the latest accomplishments, innovations and potential future directions in the field of mechatronics.
This field represents the union of mechanical and electrical engineering to produce automated mechanisms and tools.
The event carries a theme of "Applications of Mechatronics to Natural Resources," and as such will also find companies involved in the natural resources sector discussing problems that may lead to potential research topics in mechatronics.
