Demand from mining sector firms for greater vehicle safety awareness has led to the creation of a new training program to be delivered through a partnership between MacLean Engineering and Collège Boréal.
Geared primarily towards mining engineers, the two-week program will focus on the safety aspects and expectations of vehicles used widely in underground conditions. This training will then aid in supervising others who operate this equipment.
The program will also benefit less qualified staff as it also meets some of the province's apprenticeship standards for Supervisory Common Core Program for Underground Hard Rock Mines.
Though headquartered in Collingwood, MacLean Engineering has offices in Sudbury, as well as Thompson, Manitoba and Phalaborwa, South Africa.
