Fed up with high gas prices, Timmins politicians are calling on the federal government to eliminate the gas surtax and want the province to step to regulate gas taxes to benefit consumers. City councillors adopted the resolution saying gas prices on a city-by-city basis have nothing to do with transportation costs, and the cost of gas is a deterrent to tourism.
