Liberty Mines Inc., which is producing from its Redstone and McWatters nickel mines near Timmins, has increased production by 69 per cent in the third quarter of 2010.
Its Redstone nickel concentrator processed 95,587 tonnes, up from 56,520 tonnes in the second quarter.
The company also appointed Peter Caldbick as vice-president of exploration. Previously, Caldbick built and managed the exploration teams responsible for Golden Chalice Resources' Langmuir nickel discovery, which sits next to one of Liberty's mining claims in the Shaw Dome belt.
“We consider the Shaw Dome nickel belt underexplored with significant potential for additional nickel discoveries,” said Gary Nash, president and CEO of Liberty, in a release.
