Drilling at Lake Shore Gold Corp.'s Bell Creek property, northeast of Timmins has indicated that gold mineralization extends "well beyond" the limits of historic mining at the past-producing site, according to company officials.

Results from 10 holes representing 10,844 metres of drilling at its Bell Creek property have extended mineralization to the 900-metre level, and by 200 metres both to the east and west. It continues to remain open to depth and along strike, and 12 additional holes have yet to be reported.
Future work on the property will focus on defining the size, shape and grade of near-surface zones, as well as the further extension of the mineralized trend to depth.

Along with the Vogel and Schumacher properties, the Bell Creek site is part of the Bell Creek Complex, which officials are considering for a second potential phase of production. The first phase, at the Timmins West project, is on track to begin production in early 2009.
