Mining industry downturns have provided some opportunities to Kirkland Lake Gold. The mid tier miner is developing its South Mine Complex Project in Kirkland Lake using their own experienced crew, rather than contracted help, which was initially the plan.
The company will expand its workforce according to a press release. Workers will follow the direction of their key knowledgeable and experienced staff who already demonstrate strong leadership skills in the project.
The project will allow for production to increase to more than 100,000 ounces of gold per year, a rate which should be achieved by March 2009.
