FedNor announced they would invest $654,696 in support of four projects serving Kirkland Lake and the surrounding region.
Funding of $253,721 will be provided to assist the Town of Kirkland Lake in the conversion of the former Ontario Provincial Police building into a high-speed Internet technology centre for communications companies.
Another $128,100 in FedNor funding will be used toward the planning and development of the Hockey Hall of Fame in Kirkland Lake.
The rest of the $272,875 will be split between Kirkland Lake and District Community Business Corp. ($250,000) and Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology ($22,875.)
