Kirkland Lake Gold and Queenston Mining have added a fifth property to their joint venture in northeastern Ontario.
The new 'HM Claim' is a single leased mineral claim next to the producing Macassa Mine in Teck Township deep in the Kirkland Lake gold camp.
Queenston President/CEO Charles Page said the new addition serves to further the potential of their South Mine Complex, east of a high-grade resource next to the Macassa property.
Brian Hinchcliffe, President/CEO of KL Gold said the acquisition completes all the property additions needed to fully evaluate the extent of the South Mine Complex. "This multiple zone, high-grade gold system continues to remain open to the north, south, east and west.”
The companies believe this property contains the eastern mineralized extent of the South Mine Complex and plan to do surface and underground drilling later this year.
Queenston also reported finding more gold mineralization on its wholly-owned AK property in Teck Township. One hole yielded 31.8 grams of gold per tonne over 2.3 metres.
