Industrial property owners were the big winners in tax cuts that came out of the City of Timmins budget deliberations. Industrial classes will receive a 17.17 per cent chop in their tax bill, while commercial property taxes were reduced 3.71 per cent. Residential taxes were hiked 1.97 per cent. City officials hope the tax decrease might be an added incentive to lure out-of-town business.
