Heritage Fund spreads the wealth in the Northwest

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund is delivering $4.6 million for three projects in northwestern Ontario.
The Two Feathers Forest Products Ltd. Partnership in Dryden gets $1 million to buy equipment to developing a value-added wood manufacturing project in Red Lake and the Eagle Lake First Nation.
The Whitefeather Forest Management Corp., based in Pikangikum First Nation, receives $524,600 to complete planning needed to secure commercial forestry tenure for the Whitefeather Forest.
The Municipality of Red Lake will receive $3,167,589 to build power, water, sewer and road infrastructure to service a 41-lot industrial park.
The Rainy River area is benefiting as well with $439,492 earmarked to establish the Fort Frances Technology Centre. The centre will house a training lab, video conferencing equipment, research software and meeting rooms. It will employ one full-time technician to assist clients.
