Golden Chalice Resources Inc., a Vancouver-based junior exploration company, has begun a preliminary environmental baseline study on its Langmuir Nickel project, 35 kilometres southeast of Timmins.
Timmins' Blue Heron – Solutions for Environmental Management Inc. has been commissioned to do the work, which is expected to be completed by mid-December.
The project's W4 Langmuir deposit is being touted by the company as being amenable to open pit mining, with an indicated resource of 677,000 tons grading 1 per cent. It has an inferred resource of 171,000 tons, grading 0.89 per cent.
“As we move forward with the study, the company will continue to explore all the options, including joint venture possibilities, in order to fast-track the W4 deposit towards production,” said president Steve de Jong, in a release.
