Goldcorp pumps out production levels

In 2009, Goldcorp, Canada's second largest gold miner, is expected to produce approximately 2.3 million ounces of gold, almost the same as 2008.

Production will boost by as much as 50 per cent over the next five years thanks to developments in Mexico, Dominican Republic and Canada's Red Lake expansion.
The company had their best quarter yet with output of 692,000 ounces for the last three months of 2008 and cash costs sitting at $300/oz on a byproduct basis.

Cash costs in 2009 are forecasted at $365/oz on a byproduct basis, and $400/oz on a coproduct basis.
