Prodigy Gold said it's expanded its gold resources by more than 55 per cent at its Magino gold project near Wawa.

Magino now contains an indicated resource of more than 5.8 million ounces of gold (grading 0.89 grams per tonne) and an inferred resource of more than 300,000 ounces (grading 0.91 grams per tonne) at a cutoff grade of 0.35 grams per tonne.

The company expects to complete its prefeasibility study for a proposed open-pit by early next year.
