Genesis Genomics Inc. has been shortlisted as one of the 2008 winners of the annual Canada’s top 10 investment prospects.
The company along with 29 others were chosen by an independent expert panel of Canadian and United States venture capitalists who were brought together by the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation.
Winning companies participate in targeted investment forums in American cities giving them a chance to meet with venture capital investors who have expressed an interest in financing their company. Since the forum began in 1999, the competition alumni have secured more than $522 million in financing.
“This competition is an effective way to put companies in front of investors like us,” says Bernhardt Zeisig, VIMAC Ventures LLC.
“I continue to be impressed by the quality of companies that I see coming our of Canada.”
