FedNor is investing more than $156,000 in Sand Point First Nation to help the community purchase a computer network.

Three First Nations will benefit from the project as the Lake Nipigon and Poplar Point First Nations transfer their administrative offices to the Sand Point office. The network will also support business development such as the operation of Lake Nipigon Provincial Park by Sand Point First Nation under contract to the province.

A computer network will be purchased and installed in the Sand Point First Nation administrative offices. Accounting software will be purchased to help the First Nation with its accounting and record-keeping functions. Operating systems, server and Internet software installed on the network will allow the First Nation to share files and information on the Local Area Network and over the Internet.
