Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. has brought more experience into the fold by appointing Mark Tessier as the vice-president of operations for the company's namesake region.
A graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines Mining Technologist program, Tessier has more than 25 years of experience in underground mining. This includes management of the expansion and operations of Goldcorp's Red Lake Mine between 1999 and 2006.
From 2000 to 2005, the mine produced 2.8 million ounces of gold, including 600,000 ounces in 2005.
Tessier has also worked at the Denison Mine, Dome Mine and Golden Giant Mine.
Following the addition of Tessier to the team, Kirkland Lake Gold will focus on building up its engineering and mining teams to grow production and lower costs.
