The Cochrane Aviation Business Commission (CABC) has council's backing in its bid to conduct a study evaluating commercial scheduled flight service at the town's airport.

CABC wants to make an application to FedNor to secure funds for the study. A flight service is being proposed from Moosonee and Moose Factory to Cochrane, to Earlton, and then on to Toronto Island.

The proposal now requires the development of a flight service plan.

CABC wants a scheduled flight service to leave Moosonee airport and make at least two stops - one in Cochrane and one in Earlton - before landing on Toronto Island.

A consulting firm for the study was to be selected by July 1; an interim report is to be released in September, followed by the final report in November.
