First annual mining conference set for Thunder Bay

Mineral exploration is taking off in northwestern Ontario and Thunder Bay is angling to be the service hub of it all.

The inaugural Prospects North Mining Conference takes place Oct. 23-24 at the Travelodge Airlane. The event is being staged by the Northern Ontario Associated Chambers of Commerce.

The idea is to bring industry, First Nations, government and community players across the region to the table to generate awareness in potential investment opportunities for mining companies.
