The federal government is investing $1 million in a new aeromagnetic survey to cover a swath of northeastern Ontario believed to have high mineral potential. The survey, funded by FedNor, will give a better picture of the North's mineral development potential by covering an area between Wawa and Kapuskasing. The survey will provide precise, state-of-the-art geophysical data in an area where there has been no recently published coverage. The results will complement an earlier provincial initiative, Operation Treasure Hunt, which already published similar data for neighbouring areas.
