A former Abitibi Bowater manager in Thunder Bay is heading up an ethanol production plant in Minnesota.
Randy Dittman is the new general manager of POET Biorefining in Bingham Lake, Minn. He will oversee operations at the 35-million-gallon-per-year ethanol plant.
Dittman has 23 years operations experience, most recently as Abitibi Bowater's production manager of its Thunder Bay newsprint mill.
Dittman is a native of Manitowoc, Wisconsin and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
POET is the world's largest producer of ethanol according to the Renewable Fuels Association. The company operates 26 grain-to-ethanol production facilities in the U.S.
