That brings the total of employees on layoff to 600.
The Sault Ste. Marie steelmaker has been adjusting its workforce numbers based on production demand and orders for steel products from customers which began to flat-line last fall.
In October, the entire 3,500 workforce was put on layoff notice and began the firs wave of layoffs in January with 130 hourly employees.
At nearby Tenaris Algoma Tubes, 450 hourly workers were just past the midway of their six-week shutdown. The employee recall begins May 4.
