Tantalum is a scarce metal that has lots of uses, including the enhancement of power capability in cell phones, as well as the manufacture of artificial hips and jet engines.

If the company finds a deposit large enough to support a mine, it would most likely be an open-pit operation that would employee between 50 and 100 people.
