E-learning researcher Dr. Robin Mason was recently in Sudbury to study the Contact North/Contact Nord network.
Mason, a professor of educational technology at the U.K. Open University, is a specialist in the research and practice of online learning and is considered one of the early pioneers in developing the medium of computer conferencing for distance education. She has published several journal articles and five books. She is the author of Mindweave: Communication, Computers and Distance Education and Globalizing Education - Trends and Applications.
Mason is reviewing Contact North/Contact Nord as a unique distance education model for a major study she is conducting on behalf of two European countries.
