College Boreal vet tech program receives provincial accreditation

Having been created in 1997, Collège Boréal's veterinary technician training program has recently received its accreditation from the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT).

Having been created in 1997, Collège Boréal's veterinary technician training program has recently received its accreditation from the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT).

Initially offered only at the school's New Liskeard campus, the animal health program has since been expanded to the Université de Guelph - Campus d'Alfred as a result of a 2001 partnership.

"This news is even more rewarding since these educational programs have to meet a comprehensive set of standards set by the OAVT," Peggy Morin, the director of Boréal's New Liskeard campus, said in a release.

The OAVT was founded in 1970 and seeks to promote, maintain and regulate professional standards of Ontario's veterinary technicians and technologists.
