For the third time in a row, North Bay-based Cementation Canada has been named one of the country's Top 100 Employers in an annual competition overseen by Mediacorp Canada.
"Building a people-focused company has attracted great people to our organization and the market has responded. We never envisioned our phenomenal growth, but we do recognize that this growth provides great opportunities for our people," said Cementation director and president Roy Slack in a release.
Cementation employs more than 1,400 employees at their operation, while having recently added a new head office in the United States and a new facility in North Bay for the engineering department.
Other significant efforts include performing a major review of the benefits on an annual basis, performing an ergonomic review of all work spaces, and establishing a corporate Toastmasters Club.
To create this year's list, Mediacorp scrutinized more than 75,000 employers across Canada, and narrowed the choices to 16,000. These companies then submitted a thorough application process which included an overview of their operations and human resource practices.
To qualify for this stage, a company must be a leader in its field in drawing and keeping employees while offering them solid job prospects.
