The Sault's Bushplane Heritage Centre has been put on the block by the province. The Ontario Realty Corporation placed the historical plane museum on its list of properties up for sale. Considered one of the city's waterfront tourism anchors, the facility sits on an 11-acre property located on the eastern fringe of the downtown. The complex, which was the former provincial air service headquarters, is valued at $1.5 million. The terms of sale stipulate the buyer must agree to keep the museum as a tenant for the next 10 years. There are no conditions for the rest of the property which includes Ministry of Natural Resources offices, some maintenance garages and a 2.5-acre water lot. The City of Sault Ste. Marie has not expressed any interest in acquiring the museum.
