Lakehead University forestry researchers were recipients of a software donation by Buchanan Forest Products.
CCS Central Computer Services, a Buchanan subsidiary, supplied the Thunder Bay university with their Geographical Resource Management (GEREMA) program, developed by the company five years ago. It's described as a tool to provide forest managers with the ability to perform advanced planning functions.
"This is a cost-effective means for forest managers to generate management plans and manipulate geospatial information when they're in the planning process," says CCs president Hartley Multimaki.
Lakehead receives 12 licensed copies of the software.
