Addressing the gaps in cellular phone service in the Algoma-Chapleau area is the aim behind a $75,000 telecommunications feasibility study funded by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation. The Algoma District Community Network with a consortium of public- and private-sector partners is also contributing $150,000 to conduct a technical and feasibility study on how to address those gaps along the Highway 129 and 101 corridors. The study will support the development of a business plan and identification of new capital projects for cellular service.
