A Sault Ste. Marie green fuel company is getting $60,000 to bring their mini bio-diesel refinery to market faster.
SITTM is one of 12 Canadian companies receiving money from Precarn's Industrial Technology GAP (iT-GAP) program and its pool of $1.9 milion aimed at helping small, leading edge, companies commercialize intelligent products.
Precarn is an independent not-for-profit Ottawa-based company that works with Canadian companies looking to commercialize their new ideas to get an edge in global markets.
Unlike other research funding programs, Precarn uses a collaborative model that uses a developer, a customer and an academic research partner in every project. It accelerates development, reduces risk and shares the R & D costs.
The company also has access to an extensive national network of researchers, innovative companies and sources of funding.
They receive support from Industry Canada, other federal departments, and provincial government agencies, plus private sources.
